The second quarter of 2022 saw diverse performance trends across the top 5 word puzzle games on Android in the United States. Here, we break down the key metrics for each game, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Wordscapes by PeopleFun showed a gradual decline in weekly revenue, starting at around $256K and ending the quarter at approximately $207K. Weekly downloads experienced fluctuations, with a notable dip in mid-May to about 42K, followed by a recovery to around 66K by the end of June. The game’s weekly active users also saw a decline from around 1.57M at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 1.38M by the end.

Words With Friends 2 Word Game from Zynga demonstrated a peak in weekly revenue in early April at about $270K, before stabilizing around $160K towards the end of June. Weekly downloads for the game peaked at around 28K in mid-April but dropped to approximately 20K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a decline from around 305K at the start of Q2 to about 254K by the end.

Word Trip - Word Puzzle Game by PlaySimple Games maintained relatively stable weekly revenue around $90K throughout the quarter. Wheel of Fortune: TV Game by Scopely experienced a decline in weekly revenue from approximately $54K at the start of the quarter to around $45K by the end. Downloads saw a peak of about 26K in early May but fell to around 18K by late June. Active users increased from around 99K in late March to approximately 117K by mid-June, before dropping slightly to around 107K.
